Student Forum
Foundation of a nation’s progress is its resources. Thus, empowering them is one inevitable task that needs meticulous attention in the right direction. The nation is now exploring avenues for investing hugely in educating society and creating awareness by introcuding GIS related courses in curriculum and training resources for future. Today’s generation is also well versed with geospatial technologies, its usage, potential and tremendous benefits.
In view of the same, a unique platform exclusively for students shall be be provided at India Geospatial Forum 2013. Student Forum shall offer the most ideal and useful platform to the students, where they can showcase their best of the best works and earn appreciation by the audience. The forum will be divided into two subjects:

Geospatial Capacity Building Forum
The geospatial sector in India has demonstrated much higher growth rates as compared to the world levels during the last years and the trend is projected to continue in the coming years. The situation raises good hopes but also concerns for the future sustainability and brings up several questions focussed on the capacity building processes. Is this sector utilising the capabilities of the geospatial workforce to their full potential and satisfied with the current growth trends? OR is it facing a stunted growth, difficulties in stepping on the next level and a challenge in procuring competent human resources? Are the education and training institutions playing their role effectively and producing the fit-for-job graduates? Are geospatial oganisations, industry and academia working together for moving toward a geo enabled economy?
The Geospatial Capacity Building Forum brings together the geospatial oganisations, industry and academia to a common platform for discussing the lessons learnt, sharing the best practices and framing the future pathways.
The panel shall witness participation from leading geospatial private and government organisations, VC s of leading institutes
