Sanjeev Trehan, is the Regional Manager, Geospatial, SAARC Region for Trimble Navigation India Pvt. Ltd.. He has an experience of more than 23 years in various capacities of which, over 16 years is in the geospatial domain.

Abstract

The SAARC Region Geospatial user community, including National Mapping Organisations (NMO) and other government agencies are facing a growing need for geospatial data in order to aid in developmental activity and provide answers to various questions. On one hand the user community faces a reducing time for providing the same and on the other side there is a demand for getting more out of the geospatial data. Trimble has rich history of working with the individual NMO's, government agencies, educational and research organisations and users across the region to identify their needs and offering innovative solutions to address the same. The presentation looks at the basic requirement necessary to meet the large scale data gathering requirement in the region, the trends along with the various solutions to support the growing geospatial needs in the region.
