Sumantra Naik holds a Master’s degree in Geology, with Honours in GIS & Remote Sensing, from St.Xavier’s College, Mumbai. He is an alumnus of the prestigious Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A), where he completed his postgraduate studies in management. He is also an alumnus of Columbia University, New York, where as an exchange student, he took keen interest in studying negotiation tactics, equity markets and other financing mechanisms and strategies. A restive explorer by nature, Sumantra has a rich and diverse experience implementing projects in the geospatial domain, as well as working on various start-up initiatives and large-scale projects across Govt .,Public & Private sectors. Sumantra has over 14 years of work experience and is currently working as a General Manager with the Reliance ADAG Group, which has significant business investments across Mining, Manufacturing, Infrastructure, and Power Generation & Distribution Sectors. He has also co-founded the Investrata Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship, an India-based, global non-profit organization, focused on disruptively scaling socio-environmental impact. Sustainable & Inclusive business models are a life-long passion for him. He has worked closely with various domestic and global not-for-profit and development-oriented organisations in his quest to analyse and understand the ground realities of creating and fostering sustainable socio-environmental impact. When not immersed in his unreasonable quests, Sumantra likes to spend time debating with his wife on politics & economic policies and exploring childhood all-over again with his two young kids.
