State Spatial Data Infrastructure
State governments are trying to bring the Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI) to state level, by setting up a State Spatial Data Infrastructure, in the model of NSDI. These SDI’s shall act as a state level repository of spatial data, collected or acquired by various agencies. The key actors for State SDI are identified as few central government organizations located in the state and the state government departments, who are presently using or having the potential to use spatial data.
The symposium will focus on
- Status of state spatial data infrastructure in terms of its vision, data formats, metadata, various standards network framework, macro- policies etc.
- It shall highlight the challenges of governance and propose a framework for building the state SDI.
- Will also present strategies for effective functioning of the SDI at state level using a strategic management model.
